Android one family smartphones

Android One is a series of smartphones that run the unmodified Android operating system.

It is a hardware and software technical standard created by Google intended to provide a consistent user experience and improved security through frequent updates and Google Play Protect.

Android One was launched in 2014 and focused on entry-level devices for emerging markets, but later evolved into Google’s principal mobile program.

Ever since the launch of the OS, smartphone manufacturing companies have been partnering with Google to bring the new experience to their users.

Nokia 8 Sirocco

The Nokia 8 Sirocco is a high-end smartphone running the Android One variant of Android.

It was introduced at MWC in February 2018, named after the Sirocco wind, continuing the namesake of the older Nokia 8800 Sirocco.

Nokia 8 Sirocco comes with a dual-curved 5.5-inch OLED display and packs a 5MP front camera for selfie and a 12MP rear camera.

Regarding the memory, the Android One phone has 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, with no microSD slot.

Nokia 8 Sirocco runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, Android One and has a battery capacity of 3,260mAh.

Nokia 7 Plus

Nokia 7 Plus smartphone was launched in February 2018, the same month Nokia 8 Sirocco was launched.

The Android One powered smartphone comes with a 6.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2160 pixels at a PPI of 403 pixels per inch.

The Nokia 7 Plus is powered by octa-core processor and it comes with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nokia 7 Plus packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 16-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The Nokia 7 Plus runs Android 8.0, Android One and is powered by a 3800mAh non removable battery. It measures 158.38 x 75.64 x 7.99 (height x width x thickness) .

Nokia 6

Nokia 6 smartphone was launched in January 2017. We can say it was the first ever Nokia phone to join the Android One family.

The Nokia 6 smartphone features a 5.5″ (13.97 cm) display with a screen resolution of Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, Android One operating system.

The device is powered by Octa core, 1.4 GHz, Cortex A53 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

As far as the rear camera is concerned this phone has a 16 MP rear camera, 8 MP front shooter for selfies which is powered by a CMOS image sensor.

Nokia 6 is powered by 3000 mAh non removable battery.

General Mobile GM 8

GM 8 is General Mobile’s forth Android One powered smartphone. The Turkey phone company launched the smartphone in March 2018.

GM 8 features a 5.03-inch 18:9 LCD display with a 1,440 x 720 resolution and a pixel density of 282 ppi.

It also has 16 GB of storage, a 3,075 mAh battery, a single 13 MP rear-facing camera, and a 5 MP front camera.

GM 8 runs on Android 8 Oreo powered Android One.

Mi A1

Mi A1 smartphone was launched in September 2017. The phone comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels.

The Mi A1 is powered by 2GHz octa-core processor and it comes with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Mi A1 packs a 12-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The Mi A1 runs Android 7.1.2 and is powered by a 3080mAh non removable battery. It measures 155.40 x 75.80 x 7.30 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 168.00 grams.

Android One Moto X4

Moto X4 is an Android smartphone developed by Motorola Mobility, a subsidiary of Lenovo. Unveiled on August 31, 2017, at IFA, it is a revival of the previously discontinued Moto X line.

The X4 is a metal-and-glass phone with a 5.2-inch, 1080p IPS LCD display, IP68 water resistance, Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 3,000mAh battery.

Moto X4 packs 16MP front camera, and 12-MP main, 8-MP wide-angle rear cameras.

Sharp X1

The Japanese company Sharp launched its second Android One smartphone, the X1, in its homeland in 2017.

Sharp X1 comes with mid-range specs as you’d expect from Android One. It boasts a 5.3-inch 1080p IGZO LCD touchscreen, a 16.4 MP main camera with LED flash, an 8 MP wide-angle camera for selfies, and a huge (for this size device) 3,900 mAh battery.

This is rated for up to four days of usage and it uses USB-C to charge. A fingerprint scanner is on the front.

The X1 supports FeliCa, and it’s also water and dust resistant. It launched in white, dark purple, and mint green with Android 7.0 Nougat on board.

General Mobile GM 6

General Mobile GM 6 smartphone was launched in February 2017. The phone comes with a 5.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels at a PPI of 294 pixels per inch.

The General Mobile GM 6 is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM.

The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

As far as GM 6 cameras are concerned, the General Mobile GM 6 packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The General Mobile GM 6 runs Android 7.0, Android One and is powered by a 3000mAh non removable battery. It measures 144.00 x 71.30 x 8.60 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 150.00 grams.

Kyocera Android One S2

Kyocera Android One S2 was officially announced in January 2017 and was released in March same year by the Japanese company.

Kyocera Android One S2 comes with a 5 Inch 720 x 1280 pixels display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 with 1.4 GHZ Quad Core CPU.

The phone packs a 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory with 13 MP primary camera and 2.0 front camera for selfie.

Kyocera Android One S2 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and powered by a 2300 mAh Li-lon non-removable battery.

Sharp Android One S1

This is the first Sharp mobile device to be added to the Android One family. Android One S1 has a 5.0 inch IGZO LCD panel with a full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.

The phone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa Core, 1.4 GHz CPU supported by a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB memory.

Sharp S1 packs 13.1 MP rear camera, 8.0 MP front shooter for selfies and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. Battery capacity is 2530 mAh battery.

General Mobile GM 5

General Mobile GM 5, the first Android One Nougat-based out of the box smartphone was released in November 2016.

The phone comes with a 5.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels.

The General Mobile GM 5 is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor and it comes with 2GB of RAM. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage that cannot be expanded.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the General Mobile GM 5 packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The General Mobile GM 5 runs Android 7.0 powered by Android One and is powered by a 2500mAh non removable battery.

It measures 140.50 x 69.75 x 9.30 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 160.00 grams.

General Mobile GM 5 Plus

General Mobile GM 5 Plus smartphone was also released in the same year as the GM 5. The phone comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels.

The General Mobile GM 5 Plus is powered by octa-core processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the General Mobile GM 5 Plus packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 13-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The General Mobile GM 5 Plus runs Android 6.0.1 and is powered by a 3100mAh non removable battery.

Aquaris X2 and the Aquaris X2 Pro

The latest company to work with Google for Android One devices is the Spanish manufacturer BQ and they recently launched the Aquaris X2 and the Aquaris X2 Pro.

Both the Aquaris X2 and the Aquaris X2 Pro come with a 5.65″ 2.5D Full HD+ displays with a 3,100mAh capacity batteries inside it to keep things powered on.

Both have a 12MP and 5MP dual camera setup on the back of the device and both have an f1.8 aperture sensor with Portrait Mode built into it.

The Aquaris X2 comes in two different color choices and two spec configurations. The 32GB version with 3GB of RAM comes in either White/Sand Gold or Black/Carbon Black. There’s also a 64GB storage version which has 4GB of RAM.

Meanwhile, the Aquaris X2 Pro comes in three different colors and two different spec configurations.

The Black/Deep Silver variant has 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM, while the White/White Glaze and the Black/Midnight Black variants both have 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM.

The 128GB option is the most expensive in the X2 line.

The build materials of these devices are anodized aluminum with the regular Aquaris X2 boasting top-quality polycarbonate, while the Aquaris X2 Pro advertises its 3D glass setup.

Both the regular and pro versions of the Aquaris X2 ship with the Android One variant of Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

These are available smartphones in the Android One family. Infinix Note 5 has also joined the family.
